About the Role

The Metropolitan Council is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the financial management of a major transportation system and make a real impact on the community.

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the development of our annual operating and capital budgets, as well as providing financial guidance and expertise to management and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting. They will be responsible for preparing reliable and timely financial information, including account reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and financial analysis for customers with varying degrees of financial understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for management and external stakeholders
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement financial models and forecasting tools
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field
