Job Overview

Position: School Bus Driver - Full Time

Role Summary: The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating school buses under various weather conditions, ensuring the secure transport of students and authorized individuals to and from educational institutions, as well as during field trips and extracurricular activities sanctioned by the school district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate school buses on established routes and during special trips, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Complete necessary training to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and maintain compliance with all driving regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the bus to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatch and management regarding route changes and safety concerns.
  • Uphold a safe and respectful environment for students, managing behavior and addressing any safety issues promptly.

Employment Conditions:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Washington State Commercial Driver's License Class B with necessary endorsements.
  • Complete required training programs, including First Aid certification.
  • Pass a background check and meet physical demands of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth and managing groups effectively.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50-75 pounds.
