Position Summary:

The role involves executing various tasks to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of machinery within the packaging department. This includes maintaining all safety and quality protocols, adjusting machinery for optimal performance, minimizing downtime, reducing product rejects, and facilitating efficient product changeovers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot assigned machinery.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and adhere to safety standards.
  • Perform machine-specific tasks, including equipment configuration, loading, and optimizing machine capabilities.
  • Ensure machines operate at full capacity, conduct basic maintenance, and uphold product quality.
  • Prepare machines for production cycles through calibration and cleaning, and adjust settings as necessary.
  • Continuously supply raw materials to packaging equipment throughout the shift.
  • Monitor machine operations to maintain accurate product measurements.
  • Report mechanical and operational issues to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Make minor adjustments to machinery to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain standard production rates, minimize waste, and meet company requirements.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and reports accurately.
  • Track raw material scrap levels to continuously reduce waste.
  • Assist in training team members, ensuring safety and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensure product quality aligns with company standards during the shift.
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery for use or changeovers.
  • Collaborate with maintenance on production equipment to troubleshoot and discuss preventative measures.
  • Read and comprehend daily production schedules and product specifications.
  • Ensure proper printing of lot and case coding is adhered to.
  • Perform assigned clean-up activities.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Food Safety Duties:

  • All employees must report and assist in resolving any food safety issues observed.
  • Monitor and enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and prerequisite programs.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English and/or Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and climb frequently.

Supervisor: Shift Supervisor

Compensation: $18.50 per hour

Work Schedule:

  • Available for 1st or 2nd shift.
  • Occasional weekend availability may be required.

COVID-19 Compliance: Employees must present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or request accommodations as per legal requirements.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
