Position Summary:
The Senior Civil Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Design Engineering Department, contributing to the planning, design, and construction phases of various engineering projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative skills to address complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and coordinate civil engineering projects, ensuring effective collaboration among multi-disciplinary teams.
2. Develop designs for essential systems including water distribution, sewage management, grading, drainage, and pavement evaluation.
3. Conduct thorough reviews of design calculations and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Formulate innovative solutions to intricate technical issues, balancing customer expectations with design requirements.
5. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in civil engineering, providing guidance and support to project teams.
6. Maintain adherence to all relevant laws, codes, and MSTS policies throughout project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent qualifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, demonstrating technical specialization or cross-disciplinary knowledge.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with MicroStation/InRoads is preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret applicable codes and standards.
Work Environment:
