Softball Coach

The Latin School of Chicago is seeking qualified coaches to join its staff of dedicated coaches pursuing excellence in an education-based athletic program.

We are looking for experienced softball coaches to lead our Upper School Varsity, Middle School Varsity, and Middle School Varsity Assistant teams. As a coach, you will be responsible for building a positive team culture, planning and implementing game strategies, and developing a working knowledge of the Positive Coaching Alliance principles.

• Develop a positive team culture that emphasizes camaraderie, motivation, and team spirit.
• Plan and implement game strategies, including teaching fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning.
• Model attitudes and practices that exemplify the benefits of hard work, sacrifices aimed toward long-term goals, and the appreciation of challenge.
• Develop a working knowledge of the Positive Coaching Alliance principles, including 'honoring the game', 'redefining winner', and 'filling the emotional tank'.

• Playing experience is preferred.
• Coaching experience is necessary.
• All coaching positions require a daily after-school commitment and CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to carry equipment up to around 20 lbs.
• Ability to complete our fingerprint-based background check, provide a tuberculosis test, and complete required training.
