Lead Multi-Trades Inspector

The Lead Multi-Trades Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations in Brunswick County, NC. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and experience in building inspection and construction.

• Code Interpretation and Enforcement: Provide technical interpretation of codes and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and ordinances.
• Supervision and Training: Assist in supervising and training field staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare and maintain all required documentation, including inspection reports and records.

• Education and Experience: High school diploma supplemented by seven years of experience in building inspection or construction, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Certifications: Must possess current standard or probationary certificates in building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical trades at level III certification from the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board.
• Driver's License: Must possess a valid North Carolina state driver's license.

Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may require traversing uneven terrain, entering confined spaces, and/or climbing ladders during field inspections.
