We are currently searching for a skilled Kitchen Specialist to join our team at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Pikesville, MD.
Job Overview:The Kitchen Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized, and adhering to high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dish washing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
- Ware Management: Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock. Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas.
- Dishroom Operations: Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and rewashing.
- Safety and Quality: Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes. Prevent loss of dishware, utensils, and other kitchen equipment. Promptly report all maintenance issues.
- Guest Service: Assist Servers with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables upon guests' departure. If necessary, assist Servers with clearing room service trays from corridors.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards is preferred.
- This role requires working in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, for up to 4 hours at a time.
- The ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, or other display items, as well as grasp, lift, and carry same from shelves and transport up to 50 pounds to every area of the kitchen.
