We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team at Turner Industries in Plaquemine, LA. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating an overhead crane to move objects, components, and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate an overhead crane to move objects, components, and materials
  • Read and sign off on JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
  • Perform daily inspection of the crane and report any unsatisfactory findings to the Foreman
  • Read and interpret load charts
  • Understand hand signals for communicating with employees in the work area
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent
  • Preferably one (1) to two (2) years of experience in specified skill
  • Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Job site Personal Protective Equipment requirements

Physical Involvement

This role may require climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment.
