Telecommunications Specialist

This position is a critical role within the U.S. Army Cyber Command, responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our telecommunications systems. As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will serve as a technical point of contact for assigned functions, interpreting customer requirement documents and trouble tickets involving installation.

• Advise project managers and supervisors on matters such as installation, expansions, consolidations, facilities, equipment, manpower, budget, and logistics.
• Oversee the execution of work performed by telecommunication contractors.
• Provide technical analysis of customer requirements documents for installation, adds, moves, and changes to current telecommunications services, network services, fiber optic and copper cabling.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below:

• Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
• Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a relevant field.
• Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

This is an Information Technology & Cyber Management Career Field position. TERM: This announcement is for a Cyber Term position. Permanent employees who apply and accept this position will be converted to a Cyber Term appointment. Term positions in CES may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
