Job Summary

Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Senior Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Milford, MA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work
    • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
    • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Facility Maintenance
    • Perform facility maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of the shop
  • Customer Service
    • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of their complaints
    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Training and Development
    • Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
    • Complete training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Vocational or technical certification preferred
    • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
    • Basic tools, required
    • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Additional Requirements
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
