Trauma Registrar

Trauma Registrar Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Trauma Registrar to join our team at Nuvance Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational responsibility for the Trauma Registry, including data collection on all trauma patients and downloading data to the State of CT central repository.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collects and screens pertinent patient data for Trauma Registry
• Extracts data from patient medical records to enter into the Registry
• Enters trauma data into registry and downloads appropriate data to State within mandated time frames
• Maintains file backups and ensures confidentiality of patient data
• Prepares routine and statistical reports upon request
• Responds to trauma queries and identifies variances from ACS criteria

Requirements:

• Two years of college and knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and/or previous registry experience
• Strong computer skills including data entry, word processing, and creating queries
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working Conditions:

Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force. Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
