Job Title: Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to collaborate with our in-house design-build team at Engtal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building construction, particularly in the design and analysis of foundations and similar structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze structural elements, with a focus on foundations and similar structures, for in-house building projects.
  • Prepare and stamp engineering plans in compliance with local, state, and national building codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to develop efficient and cost-effective structural designs.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations for modifications.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with structural requirements and design intent.
  • Participate in project meetings, offering technical guidance on structural considerations and addressing any design-related issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and building codes to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut, or ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building construction and foundation design.
  • Proven ability to prepare and stamp structural plans and calculations.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and structural design standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
