We are seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, working under the direction of a physician.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to inform treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, making recommendations for treatment and referrals as necessary.
- Provide education to patients on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other clinicians to facilitate recovery and improve patient outcomes.
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Texas licensure as an APRN-NP, with specialty certification as required by department.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
This role requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
