Role Overview
We are seeking a Veterinary Pathologist (job level will be determined based on experience) to become an integral part of our Development team, reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer. In this role, you will engage in critical preclinical-stage studies that are essential for advancing our next-generation gene therapy initiatives. The Veterinary Pathologist will work collaboratively with diverse teams, offering essential insights into toxicologic and investigative pathology research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive gross and microscopic pathological assessments of tissues and organs from preclinical studies.
- Deliver expert analysis of histopathological results, correlating findings with clinical and laboratory data.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of preclinical studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and scientific protocols.
- Draft detailed pathology reports and communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the identification and validation of novel biomarkers and toxicity mechanisms.
- Support regulatory submissions by providing pathology expertise and aiding in documentation preparation.
- Oversee the histology laboratory team.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (DACVP).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in investigative and toxicologic pathology within the biotechnology sector.
- Extensive experience in evaluating Animal Models.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in interpreting complex data sets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant life science field.
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques and molecular pathology.
- Familiarity with GLP regulations and experience in regulatory submissions.
- Experience in AAV gene therapy.
