Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner

Ashe Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests, and prescribe medication for children and adults.
Responsibilities- Provide primary care services to patients of all ages, including pediatric, geriatric, and general populations.
- Conduct thorough head-to-toe preoperative assessments and reassess as needed.
- Formulate individualized plans of care and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Make appropriate explanations to patients regarding procedures.
- Monitor patient and physician satisfaction and follow through on needs identified through the monitoring process.
- Maintain current basic medical knowledge and demonstrate competence and skill in its application.
- Perform History and Physical exams proficiently and record review will show 95% or higher compliance with documentation proficiency.
- Record keeping is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Keep Rural Health Clinic Medical Director informed of unusual occurrences.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Abide by policies and procedures of AMH.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Previous experience in rural health preferred.
- Certified with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Initial Certification and meet the regulations of NC Board of Medical Examiners, OR Nurse Practitioner meeting regulations of North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS Certification.
