Position Summary:

The Packing Associate is responsible for various manual tasks to support other team members in the safe preparation, operation, maintenance, sanitation, storage, and organization of plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform the essential duties outlined below:

  • Collaborate and communicate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Assist operators by:
    • Providing materials
    • Holding materials
    • Holding tools
    • Cleaning work areas and equipment
  • Lift and dump raw materials, finished products, and packed items, either manually or with a forklift.
  • Properly build and fill boxes or other packaging as instructed.
  • Load and unload items from trucks, machines, or conveyors.
  • Label products for identification.
  • Measure product amounts or weights to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Monitor equipment operations and report any malfunctions.
  • Seal, pack, and store materials and products, stacking them in designated areas.
  • Prepare products for further processing or inspection.
  • Remove waste materials from machines.
  • Transfer items between storage and work areas, using hand or forklift.
  • Sanitize and clean work areas and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Mix appropriate chemical solutions for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Uphold all food safety regulations, which are core to our operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading and writing.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Knowledge of safe equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools.
  • Ability to adjust machine controls accurately.

  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of related experience or training.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position may vary based on specific working conditions:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

Starting Wage: $16.50/hr.
