Accountant I

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant I to join our team at the County of Trinity, CA. As an Accountant I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and fiscal control work, including maintaining fiscal records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing financial data.

• Maintain and balance fiscal records, including ledgers and journals
• Prepare and review financial reports and statements
• Analyze financial data and identify trends and areas for improvement
• Assist with budget development and control
• Perform special financial analysis assignments as needed

• Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience in performing accounting and fiscal control work
• Knowledge of general accounting theory, principles, and practices
• Ability to learn and work with the County's computerized financial management system

This position is located in an office environment and requires continuous contact with other staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
