UTMB Health seeks a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, and review and modify patient care plans as needed.
- Deliver nursing interventions to assigned patients, consistent with the state medical plan of care.
- Notify nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status, and recognize patient care priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient care crises.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program.
- Current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS-HP certification.
This position is located within a correctional facility, and requires security clearance and pre-employment drug testing.
