Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate company-owned vehicles to deliver products to retail customers and other Rocky's Ace Hardware locations.
  • Drive safely and deliver products within deadlines, adhering to local and state driving laws and road regulations.
  • Load and unload products from trucks and deliver to other Rocky's sites or customer's homes.
  • Analyze delivery addresses, determine efficient routes, and stay on schedule.
  • Report any accidents or injuries to Supervisors immediately.
  • Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
  • Notify Supervisors about any major repairs and maintenances.
  • Stringently adhere to company operating policies and procedures.
  • Provide special care in delivering fragile and hazardous products.
  • Comply with DOT and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Eight years related experience as a delivery or route driver operating a commercial delivery vehicle of GVWR of 26,000 pounds or less.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents.
  • Must have the math ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and common GPS software.
  • Current, valid driver's license with infraction-free history.
Work Environment

The work environment is typically quiet to moderate, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The physical demands of this job include sitting, driving for extended periods, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
