Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: A Production Technician is tasked with assembling various components or parts according to a defined set of schematics or technical drawings. This role involves verifying the correct quantities of components, conducting quality inspections of finished products, managing inventory of parts, and utilizing hand tools and machinery to create robust products and structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The daily tasks and responsibilities of a Production Technician may vary based on the manufacturing sector, but generally include:

  • Assembling components by joining parts and subassemblies.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and assembly guidelines.
  • Aligning components and parts, either manually or with lifting equipment.
  • Employing hand tools or machinery for assembly tasks.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including tools and equipment.
  • Preparing for assembly by reviewing parts lists and gathering necessary components, tools, and materials.
  • Positioning parts and subassemblies using templates or precise measurements.
  • Verifying specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolving assembly issues by adjusting dimensions to meet specifications and consulting with supervisors for additional resources.
  • Ensuring equipment functionality by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and requesting repairs as needed.
  • Managing inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and confirming receipt of supplies.
  • Documenting processes by completing production and quality assurance forms.
