Job Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist with patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and documentation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 2 weeks of hire.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
