Our Site Based Float Pool is committed to delivering outstanding nursing support to acute care units across our facilities. Our nurses thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork and leadership are prioritized, enjoying the flexibility to float between different units.

As a Float Pool Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, which includes assessing, planning, implementing care strategies, and evaluating patient progress towards desired outcomes. With a focus on quality patient and family-centered care, the RN assumes primary responsibility for patient care in collaboration with the Care Team to ensure optimal outcomes.

This position requires floating between various hospitals and units, including but not limited to PCU, DOU, Telemetry, Oncology, and Medical-Surgical units.

The following candidates are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Current employees
  • Rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago

To maintain eligibility for retention incentives, the following criteria must be adhered to:

  • Must retain original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in the offer letter)
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty
  • Must retain the original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonuses unless explicitly stated in the offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU

• Valid California Registered Nurse License

• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association

• Proficiency in English, including reading and following instructions

• Demonstrated positive interpersonal behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

• NIH Certification

• Six (6) months of RN experience in Progressive Care
