About the Job

International Marine and Industrial Applicators is seeking a highly skilled Preservation Specialist to join our team. As a Preservation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of preservation work performed onboard commercial and US Navy vessels. This includes monitoring quality control requirements in accordance with established Navy regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and document all required readings, including metal anchor tooth, paint wet/dry film thickness, steel temperatures, and environmental readings.
- Develop and maintain Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs) for assigned jobs.
- Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in good working order and calibrated within certification intervals.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NACE Inspector and/or SSPC NBPI certification.
- Formal or informal on-the-job training in the marine industry.
- Familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards.

Working Conditions

- Regularly stand for long periods of time and work in confined spaces.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and hazardous materials.
