Soliant is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. The Sign Language Interpreter will provide interpretation services in educational settings to ensure access to academic and extracurricular activities for deaf or hard of hearing students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and reliable sign language interpretation in classrooms, meetings, and school events.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student success and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to provide high-quality interpretation services.
- Stay up-to-date with advances in sign language and interpreting techniques to ensure best practices.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting accessibility and equality.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent.
- Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, or the ability to obtain certification within a specified time frame.
- Experience as a sign language interpreter in educational environments is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
