We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at STS Technical Services in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
Job DescriptionAs an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general to complex maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems. Your duties will include examining, disassembling, and inspecting engines, parts or other components for wear, warping, breaks, leaks or other non-conformities or deficiencies.
You will also assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories. Additionally, you will service and maintain aircraft systems by performing tasks such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
Your expertise will be required to repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts. You will test engine and system operations using testing equipment and listen to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
You will disassemble and modify aircraft structures, systems, or components following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications. Furthermore, you will read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
You will adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment. Finally, you will maintain and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
