Job Summary:
Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Insertion Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of field experimentations and technology demonstrations to advance marine energy technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Integration: Interface with stakeholders to define problems, develop requirements, and identify strategies to facilitate technology demonstrations and exercise experimentations.
- Communication: Develop and present professional briefings, trip reports, white papers, and other informational documents to inform senior decision-makers.
- Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of field experimentations and technology demonstrations, including preliminary planning, site surveys, and concept development.
- Testing and Analysis: Conduct performance testing, correlate and analyze test data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Demonstration and Transition: Conduct demonstration testing with potential end-users and transition technology from developmental to commercial.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Project Tracking: Effectively develop and track projects and field efforts from planning through execution, considering budget, schedule, and performance benchmarks.
- Contract Management: Develop and oversee contracted efforts in support of field testing and/or technology demonstrations.
- Technology Awareness: Maintain awareness of military requirements and emerging technologies in the domain of marine energy development and undersea and expeditionary warfare.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Experience: At least 3 years of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree: In Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
- Research and Development Experience: In undersea command, control, and communications; weapon systems; sensing systems; and unmanned systems.
- Operational Requirement Identification: Experience with identifying operational requirements, fostering innovation, and managing system technology integration.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering: Experience with applying principles of model-based systems engineering and developing Interface Control Documents (ICD).
