Job Summary

Cajun Industries is seeking a skilled Geospatial Analyst to join our team. As a Geospatial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing surveying services to our company supervisors and craftsmen to ensure that construction work complies with design drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Data Collection: Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
  • Survey Planning and Execution: Provide topographic and cross-section surveys required for planning and payment quantities, and provide quantity calculations as required.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Develop new data from photogrammetric records and maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare documentation (field books and diaries) of surveying activities and coordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipment and check as-built conditions that require use of surveying techniques.
  • Engineering Drawings: Prepare or revise engineering drawings as directed and determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds, regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mental Demands: Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/supervision, talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy, ability to use math/complete calculations, must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details, ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices.
