Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking for a meaningful career in caregiving? Comfort Keepers of Sumter, SC is seeking a Night Shift Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with activities of daily living.
Job Summary:As a Night Shift Caregiver, you will provide one-on-one in-home care services to seniors, including companion care and personal care, to keep them safe, healthy, and comfortable at home.
Responsibilities:- Assist with grooming and hygiene
- Provide mobility assistance, including using transfer aids
- Transfer and position clients safely
- Assist with toileting and incontinence care
- Prepare and cook meals
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry
- Assist with grocery shopping and errands
- Remind clients to take medication
- Work with clients who have dementia or Alzheimer's
- Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- High level visual and hearing acuity and verbal communication required
- Must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for criminal background investigation and motor vehicle driving record
- Permission to submit to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing
- Must have valid South Carolina Driver's License
- Must have reliable transportation and fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Empathy for the needs of the client
- Treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ensures confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
