Wildland Mitigation Specialist

Evergreen Fire Rescue is seeking a highly skilled Wildland Mitigation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in scheduling and conducting home assessments through our EFR Mitigation Program, as well as facilitating educational and mitigation events in support of our Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and conduct home assessments through the EFR Mitigation Program
- Facilitate educational and mitigation events in support of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan
- Participate in inspection/assessment coordination, tracking with the Plan Unit Ambassadors and EFR's mitigation program
- Provide programming and support for the Plan Units and the EFR Ambassador Program
- Assist with public education through EFR's Mitigation Program outreach, Plan Unit work and events, the Ambassador Program, and HOA coordination
Requirements:
- Must have knowledge of wildland mitigation practices, defensible space standards, and home hardening knowledge
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, work independently, and utilize excellent organizational skills
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 18 years or older
Working Conditions:
This position may require physical activities associated with hiking and walking in areas of elevation and steep slopes for the majority of the workday. Work will be primarily conducted in the outdoors in potentially variable weather.
Benefits:
- Salary range: $52,000 to $78,000
