Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Family Medicine department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the LPN Practice Act, hospital and/or physician practice policies, procedures, protocols, and other professional standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collects patient health care data, including vital signs, weight, chief complaint, and pain assessment, focusing on the physical, psychosocial, age, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Completes patient care treatments/testing as ordered by the physician.
  • Administers medications/immunizations using appropriate routes and techniques specific to the patient's age.
  • Provides education and instruction to patients and families within their scope of practice.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensuring that supplies in patient care areas are replenished daily.
  • Performs point-of-care testing as ordered by the physician.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
  • Act 33 with renewal.
  • Act 34 with renewal.
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include rotating shifts, standby, on-call, and travel between Excela Health locations.
