Job OverviewPosition Summary

The 10 Smythe unit is a specialized 24-bed Acute Care Telemetry department dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to patients with diverse medical needs. Our primary areas of focus include Pulmonary, Renal, Urology, and Neurology.

This role involves providing safe and efficient nursing care tailored to the specific age and needs of patients and their families. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assist patients in achieving, maintaining, and enhancing their health status. The position requires the implementation of effective, relationship-based nursing care, showcasing technical proficiency that leads to safe practices and positive patient outcomes.

Clear communication and collaboration are essential to optimize patient care and enhance clinical operations. The role also emphasizes personal development and contributions to the nursing profession, alongside demonstrating leadership that positively influences clinical and operational results. Depending on the clinical area, ACLS/PALS certification may be necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a thorough understanding of nursing processes and practices. Proficiency in utilizing various technical equipment to meet patient needs and administer prescribed medical therapies is required (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices).

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of RN experience.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program is preferred, with a minimum requirement of a Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution.

Licensure Requirements:

Candidates must hold a current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Ohio.

Current BLS Provider Certification from the American Heart Association is required or must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
