Position Overview:

The Behavioral Health Clinician II serves as a licensed independent practitioner responsible for conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, formulating care strategies in collaboration with clients and their families, and providing therapeutic services through individual, family, or group modalities as deemed appropriate. This role necessitates active collaboration with psychiatric and medical professionals involved in the client's care continuum, alongside meticulous documentation of all clinical interactions in alignment with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. While the primary focus is on direct client engagement, the role may also encompass the supervision of unlicensed personnel and students.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:
  • Conducts initial behavioral health assessments and provides psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups, catering to both children and adults in an outpatient setting. The clinician is expected to facilitate a minimum of five (5) therapeutic groups weekly.
  • Engages as part of a multidisciplinary team, accepting referrals from primary care providers and proactively reaching out to identify patients who may benefit from behavioral health services, as indicated by clinical dashboards.
  • Consults with internal and external providers regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
  • Participates in the Behavioral Health On-Call rotation for after-hours support and manages daily clinic inquiries.
  • Coordinates with psychiatric consultants for diagnostic evaluations and consultative services; refers clients for medication management as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a Ph.D. /Psy.D, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT degree.
  • Valid licensure in the State of Connecticut.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with outpatient populations, including children and/or adults.
  • Theoretical approach aligned with brief, solution-focused therapy.
  • Access to reliable transportation for external consultations, meetings, and home visits.
  • Bilingual proficiency in the language prevalent among the patient demographic (e.g., English/Spanish) is preferred.
