Overview

At Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), we are seeking a highly skilled Network Orchestration Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced research and development projects, building capabilities for specialized networks.


Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Job Description

This role involves designing and orchestrating tailored networks and/or threat representative networks. The successful candidate will have expertise in concepts like traffic engineering, software defined networking, protocol manipulation over network types including wired, wireless, LOS, BLOS, and mesh.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field.
  • Experience with Linux, Ansible, Containers, C/C++, Python, Java, MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
  • The ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by the start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance.
  • Expert level knowledge of network testbed development and experience with network emulation/simulation.
  • Operational experience with virtualization and enterprise computing platforms.
  • Relevant experience with military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering.
  • Experience in project management/development, ideally leading multi-disciplinary teams.
