Position Overview:

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is seeking candidates for the role of Food Preparer. This full-time position offers competitive compensation starting at $17.66 per hour, with opportunities for overtime. The primary responsibility includes preparing meals for inmates in accordance with established schedules, alongside maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare meals as directed by the Food Service Supervisor, adhering to assigned schedules.
2. Conduct cleaning and sanitizing tasks as required.
3. Assist in the receipt and storage of inventory items.
4. Maintain a consistent and reliable attendance record.
5. Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and management.
6. Demonstrate reliability and responsibility in fulfilling job obligations.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess a valid driver's license.
2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; pursuing an Associate Degree in culinary arts is preferred.
3. Knowledge of meal preparation for large groups and the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
4. Proficiency in operating basic kitchen equipment.

Work Environment:
