The Role

In your role as a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in guiding the strategic direction of US Tech & Prod. This position is intrinsically multifaceted, requiring the candidate to engage with various disciplines.

We seek a candidate with a deep passion for data and a knack for swift iterations. Your primary focus will be on improving the speed and quality of data-based decision making by establishing cutting-edge monitoring systems for real-time or near-real-time data collection and analysis.

Leveraging statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques, you will extract meaningful insights from the data, enabling a profound comprehension of user behavior, trends, and patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders, engineering, product, and SRE teams to understand business requirements and convert that into technical requirements, including developing prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of data and analytics solutions.
  • Extract data from various sources such as APIs, HIVE tables, and other structured and unstructured data sources to process and store large volumes of data ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources to ensure data is easily accessible and can be used effectively by other members of the organization.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with data analytics and data engineering, including experience with data cleaning and preprocessing, data analysis, and dashboard development.
  • 2+ years of proficiency in distributed data processing using Big Data technologies like Spark/Scala, Java, Hadoop/HDFS/AWS/S3, Cassandra, and Kafka.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, data design, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
