Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Manager based in Memphis will oversee and synchronize initiatives aimed at enhancing all operational activities that affect the Memphis facility. This position will engage directly with cross-functional teams within the site and collaborate with other Continuous Improvement professionals throughout the organization to advance operational efficiency aligned with both site-specific and company-wide objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly engages with local and corporate leadership to set continuous improvement targets and overall strategic direction; provides ongoing insights and feedback to senior management regarding these initiatives.
  • Works in partnership with functional leaders, staff, and clients to identify strategic improvement opportunities aimed at boosting efficiency within the facility; leads the execution of approved programs from start to finish.
  • Connects with internal and external resources to integrate best practices into projects and the organization.
  • Delivers training and mentorship to staff on principles and techniques of Operational Excellence.
  • Facilitates and directs the continuous improvement training process for the facility by assessing learner needs and creating necessary training materials.
  • Champions and directs problem-solving initiatives using Lean methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Ensures transparent communication throughout the organization by keeping key stakeholders updated on project progress and coordinating Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Establishes metrics, deployment goals, and objectives to foster accountability across the facility.
  • Monitors the activity levels of continuous improvement teams and team leaders; notifies management of additional support required to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stays informed on the latest advancements in Operational Excellence and process improvement methodologies; keeps the organization and site updated.
  • Exemplifies operational excellence by visibly demonstrating leadership and change management behaviors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an operations role with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully mentoring and training large teams across various functional and skill levels.
  • Strong understanding of Lean processes and methodologies within a manufacturing context, including Value Stream Mapping, facilitating Kaizen events, and knowledge of Lean tools such as Continuous Flow, Setup Reduction, Pull Systems, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and 5S practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in IQMS Manufacturing software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
