Position Overview:
We are looking for a committed and skilled Senior Accountant to become an integral part of our team within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our financial records, which include purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
This position will also entail overseeing various accounting functions, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and executing month-end closing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include:
- Supervising all daily accounting activities such as Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
- Coordinating the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts while reporting any variances.
- Preparing and distributing timely monthly financial statements.
- Managing the preparation of regulatory reports.
- Researching technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
- Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborating closely with the management team to share reports and analytical findings.
- Overseeing and monitoring the performance of invested assets in alignment with policies and investment strategies.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of five years of experience in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a CPA or similar qualification is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and managing general ledger functions.
- Strong administrative skills and familiarity with Sage accounting software.
- Solid understanding of business and income tax calculations.
- Proven track record in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the capacity to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
