As a Loading Dock Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, verifying shipment details, and collaborating with various departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential in this role.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain meticulous accuracy when recording item descriptions and quantities for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Thoroughly inspect packaging and item condition upon receipt of inbound shipments, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of barcodes associated with all shipments to prevent errors during handling and transportation.
  • Accurately complete Manifest/Bill of Lading documents, providing clear and concise shipment information.
  • Keep the receive-in log book up-to-date and accurate, reflecting all incoming shipments.
  • Efficiently unload, verify, record, and label cross-dock pickups for timely distribution.
  • Communicate effectively with the Dispatch Department, Operations Managers, and Client Managers regarding inbound shipment activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized loading dock area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Provide physical assistance in loading and unloading trucks as needed, ensuring safe handling of goods.
  • Collaborate with team members to support overall operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the logistics industry is required.
  • A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a professional appearance are essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow instructions precisely are crucial for success in this position.
  • Prior experience in packing, handling, creating cases, organizing, and working with fine furniture is highly desirable.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods is a requirement of this role.
