Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Piedmont Columbus Northside. As an LPN on our Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, collecting data on physical, psychosocial, and health history.
  • Evaluate patient developmental age and provide care accordingly.
  • Organize patient data to formulate a plan of care, identifying additional information needed and making care decisions based on identified needs.
  • Carry out the plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient care specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan, ensuring care is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
  • Oversee activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identify teaching opportunities and provide resources for patient educational goals.
  • Communicate issues and concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document patient care and concerns in the patient record.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an LPN program.
  • New graduates of an accredited nursing school are eligible.
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a LPN or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for preferred.
  • Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • ALS/ACLS and PALS certification required for Emergency Department nurses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
