CoreCivic is seeking a skilled Health Services Information Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our health services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of health data and reports using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Health Information Systems (HIS) reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee data activities for accuracy and completeness between multiple facility systems, including the EMR, HIS, OMSe, and medical case management system.
- Ensure accurate transfer of data between systems, troubleshoot issues, and refer complex issues to the technology department.
- Conduct root cause analysis using audit and report findings, and participate in the development of corrective action plans with facility and department leadership.
- Review patient health records for completion across all areas of health services, including clinical, dental, and mental health.
- Ensure accurate and complete transfer of data from OMEs as needed.
- Identify missing records or incomplete data and refer to department head for clinical corrections and completion.
- Verify and scrub data to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Review electronic data mining for errors and conduct basic manual corrections.
- Monitor record completion to ensure proper tracking of offsite and outside referrals, including emergency transfers.
- Verify proper data tracking throughout the EMS and HIS systems, including contract-specific systems as required by contract.
- Provide technical training and education to health services staff to improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of EMR and HIS systems.
- Coordinate activities of the telehealth system and provide technical support.
- Participate in testing for system upgrades and provide feedback for improved system performance.
