We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our Cardiac Catheter Lab, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic procedures in a timely and efficient manner according to policy and procedures
- Direct activities toward full compliance and accreditation with ACR, MQSA, New Jersey State DEP, and TJC
- Explain procedures to patients and their families/caregivers
- Assist the physician with procedures in a competent and professional manner
- Prepare the room, equipment, special supplies, trays, and contrast materials as needed for the patient and procedure
- Adhere to all Radiation Safety requirements, including the use of radiation protective devices at all times
- Document the necessary pertinent information as required, including clinical information, birth date, and to females of reproductive age, if they may be pregnant and the date of their LMP
- Review patient charts, scripts, referrals for physician order and diagnosis
- Follow up with provider of care if information is not clear
- Post-process in a timely fashion for physician to interpret images
- Assist with clerical duties and escorting of patients
- Actively participate in unit-based/other organization in-services and workshops
- Contribute toward improving cost effectiveness and productivity
- Reflect commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the work place and toward the job
- Completion of an approved Radiological Technology Program that meets the requirements set by the ASRT and the New Jersey Certification Board
- Two years experience as a staff technologist with consideration given for less experience
- Certifications and Licenses Required: Must be licensed by the New Jersey State DEP and registered by the ARRT
- BCLS and ACLS required for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab
