Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Part-time

Overview: The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Convention Center, and Sioux Falls Arena are seeking a dedicated custodian. This role is essential for maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility during various events. The primary working hours will be in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas consistently.
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect workspaces, including floors, walls, glass surfaces, and restrooms.
  • Store cleaning supplies properly, adhering to safety standards and facility protocols.
  • Regularly empty trash bins in designated locations.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, particularly regarding chemical handling.
  • Immediately report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  • Utilize various mechanical cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cleaning agents and their appropriate usage.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and climb stairs; reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending are necessary.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • Daily lifting and carrying of items up to 30 lbs for short durations.
  • Capacity to remain on feet for several hours.
