Job Summary:
As a key member of the Lincoln Premium Poultry team, the FSQA Manager will be responsible for driving process improvements, results, and quality within the Company. This role will effectively lead and develop the quality assurance and quality control teams, ensuring that the Company meets all federal, state, local regulations, and audit certifications.

Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the activities of the QA Department and assure effective application of product/process monitoring, testing, validation, and controls.
  2. Manages plant function in compliance with customer product guidelines.
  3. Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, mentoring, and evaluating performances of area supervisors to maximize employee engagement and achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Leads the implementation of quality systems to ensure adherence to product specifications, GMP's, and SOP requirements. Work to ensure accuracy of records and documentation of customer requirements.
  5. Participate in the development of quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
  6. Participate in the development of capital spending plans in consideration of quality assurance.
  7. Performs periodic audits at the facility on recall systems, incoming raw materials, in-process control and finished good testing. Monitor and co-pack compliance to Company standards.
  8. Collaborate and interact with other production management staff, supervisors, USDA, sales, product development, suppliers, and customers in directing quality assurance activities while promoting a safe and healthy work environment through leadership of safety and health program for the facility.
  9. Responsible for the quality assurance teams' performance and development, safety, work schedule, and other duties associated with supervision of employees. Develop and implement training plans for staff by providing training resources to support development.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs.
  11. Provide updates to Quality Assurance Director and Plant Operations Manager regarding quality assurance activities.
  12. Provide detailed and constructive feedback to supervisors during their shift about their progress for assigned work.
  13. Plan and coordinate shift activities and personnel scheduling.
  14. Develop process improvements and evaluate and analyze results.
  15. Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe working environment by also promoting, adhering to, and holding employees accountable to those policies.
  16. Attend leadership training, meetings and other learning and development opportunities.
  17. Effectively communicate with HR, departments heads, and other supporting department leaders if conflict or dilemmas arise with employees in your charge.
  18. Manage employee timecards and time off requests.
  19. Perform employee disciplinary actions, including verbal, written, and suspension paperwork and all other required documentation.
  20. All other duties not listed but requested by Senior Leadership, and Human Resources.
Requirements of the Position:
  1. MUST possess a minimum of five years' work experience in quality assurance/food safety, including previous management experience managing and directing supervisors.
  2. MUST be familiar with Federal and State food industry regulations and guidelines.
  3. MUST have thorough knowledge of food safety programs and organizations, including HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's, USDA, FDA, OSHA, FDA, and DOT.
  4. MUST possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to all team members.
  5. Ability to motivate team members to drive and achieve production goals as well as be responsible for performance management of your team including goal setting and providing performance reviews yearly.
  6. MUST have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.
  7. MUST know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  8. MUST be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  9. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each role.
  10. Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
  11. Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings.
  12. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Preferred Experience:
  1. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Karen are preferred.
  2. Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is highly preferred.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Animal Sciences, or a related field is preferred, however experience in lieu of degree will always be considered.
  4. Knowledge in developing and administering process improvement principles.
