We are a leading construction firm based in Michigan with an extensive backlog of projects. As a Construction Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that offer significant bonus potential.

About Our Company

Our company has been in business for 50 years and is committed to employee success. We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to join our team for a large hospital project coming up. After completing this project, you will have the opportunity to work in any of our commercial verticals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary liaison with owners/architects/engineers for day-to-day construction activities
  • Develop and implement overall project work schedules, identifying the critical path and expediting critical materials and equipment delivery
  • Review, respond, and resolve subcontractor schedule impacts and claims of productivity impacts
  • Manage and make decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels
  • Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule and prepare RFIs to clarify questions on building plans and details when necessary
  • Oversee work among all trades to promote coordinated project operation
  • Resolve local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor, and equipment
  • Ensure all necessary permits and insurance are in place and kept current for the term of the project
  • Assist in General Conditions to maintain the budget
  • Manage the work to ensure it conforms to approved contract documents

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of building construction experience required
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction means, methods, and materials
  • Previous healthcare experience and ICRA knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills combined with ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Completed OSHA 30 hour training course
  • Ability to develop employees by providing stretch assignments with the right blend of support
