Role Overview:
- Under the supervision of a registered nurse, deliver direct patient care adhering to established standards and practices.
- Assist in patient assessments by gathering necessary data for RN analysis.
- Implement care plans, including specimen collection and wound management, and may administer medications as required.
- Engage patients and their families in care planning, considering their psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs.
- Support patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Monitor and document patient status, communicating effectively with RNs, physicians, and families regarding patient responses to care.
- Act as an advocate for the patient's physical and emotional health.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills related to nursing theory and practice.
- Accountability for performing delegated nursing responsibilities.
- Ability to provide appropriate nursing care based on patient demographics and diagnoses.
- AHA BLS certification is required; PALS certification may be necessary.
