A CNA plays a crucial role in providing empathetic assistance with daily living activities, ensuring that each resident's emotional and physical needs are met with compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and fellow staff members.
- Uphold the confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist residents with daily living tasks, including mobility support and meal delivery.
- Support personal hygiene needs, such as assisting with bathing and using bedpans.
- Provide additional patient care as necessary, including delivering comfort items during therapy sessions.
- Monitor and document food intake and output, sharing relevant information with medical staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols in all activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures and report any violations.
Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for working with the senior population.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association) is preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with team leaders.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially in interactions with residents.
- Capability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
