Electronics Test Specialist

Job Summary:

The Electronics Test Specialist will conduct a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and on-time delivery. This role involves performing routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components, reviewing shop traveler route cards and schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation, and troubleshooting circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verifying check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures.
  • Review shop traveler route card, or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation.
  • Perform a variety of tests to verify circuitry and to test effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
  • Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verifying check.
  • Perform test and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, frequency counters and other related test equipment.
  • Set up test equipment and tests per specification.
  • Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level.
  • Provide detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules.

Requirements:

  • A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field.
  • 2 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.
  • Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions.
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications.
