Hydrologic Modeler

As a Hydrologic Modeler at St. Johns River Water Management District, you will perform hydrologic modeling and data analysis to support water resources management, flood protection, water quality improvements, environmental restoration, and minimum flows and levels assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a professional engineer or an engineer scientist to perform model simulations using existing surface water models to generate water quantity and water quality results.
- Evaluate model results and develop model data sets.
- Utilize ArcGIS to develop figures and data as necessary for model development.
- Perform statistical analysis of hydrologic data, including stream discharge and water quality data frequency analysis, development of flow duration curves, and regression and trend analysis.
- Contribute to the development of project reports and presentations.
Requirements:
- Engineer Scientist I requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field.
- Engineer Scientist II requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field and one year of professional experience in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field.
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, or related field can substitute for one year of the required experience.
Working Environment:
Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products. Periodic field visits may occur, which require the ability to endure outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.
