Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated District Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing, coordinating, and directing nursing care and services on behalf of the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement health care plans for students, collaborating with families and medical professionals.
  • Conduct student health assessments and reviews health conditions in classrooms as needed.
  • Consult with physicians and parents to obtain necessary information and convey findings.
  • Delegate health-related procedures to staff and provide training and supervision in accordance with state standards.
  • Perform direct nursing as needed, including medication administration, tube feeding, and seizure management.
  • Participate in IEP and 504 processes for students with health needs.
  • Travel to multiple classroom sites and make home visits as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law and district policy.
Requirements
  • Certificates as determined by the district and official status as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Ability to make decisions independently and use initiative and judgment in accomplishing tasks following overall policies and objectives.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
  • General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use database software, email, internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • State-issued valid driver's license.

  • Frequent or prolonged standing, walking, and sitting.

  • Requires handling and working with a variety of materials and objects.
  • Work may occasionally involve lifting/carrying objects weighing 25-50 pounds.
  • Work may require lifting or assisting in lifting a student or physically restraining a student from harming self or others.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids due to student injury or illness.
  • Possible exposure to bodily harm due to student behaviors.
