Landfill Laborer

Join the City of Salina, Kansas team as a Landfill Laborer and contribute to the maintenance and operation of the municipal solid waste landfill.

This role involves operating heavy equipment, performing manual labor, and maintaining the landfill's infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and possess a valid Kansas driver's license.

• Operate heavy equipment such as mowers, pickups, and compactors
• Perform manual labor tasks including moving, leveling, and compacting solid waste
• Assist in the planning and execution of landfill operations
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and perform repairs as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in construction and maintenance work
• Valid Kansas driver's license
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The employee will be exposed to dust, noise, and physical hazards. Regular breaks and safety equipment will be provided to ensure a safe working environment.
